    Since the 80's 20th century, the lab is keeping the pace with the cutting edge of the science, based on the developing of the subject, and kept on providing the high-tech to the country to solve the tough problems which we met in the geoenviroment. Let ' s come to the results we have made already: we made many profits on the national major projects both on the practice part and the theory part. We have established four researching fields £º

    ¢Ù The assessment and prevention on the major geohazards

    Study on many kinds of epigenic geohazards such as the landslides.

    a.Study on the regional distributions of the major geohazards

    By investigating the distributions of the geohazards and the harms they caused to the humans'engineering projects and the activities, we provided envidence to the solution approaches which are made by the government.

    b.Study on the awareness of the potential geohazards an dthe process of their formation

    By means of surveying, field testing, lab testing, numerical stimulating, we recognized the formation process by details and provided the scientific evidence to the forecast of the geohazards.

    c.Study on the assessment methods of the geohazards

    Blending with the modern geotechnical mechanics, mathematic approaches with the basis study on the geohazards ' forecasting, we worked out a series of methods on the model making, judgment making on the dealing process and also provided the technical supporting both on the theory and practice sides.

    d.Study on the risk management and the risk assessment on the rengional geohazards

     Based on bulks of the statistics which are describing the characters of the geohazards, we used the layer analysis and some non-linear methods to make the assessments. With the help of the GIS technology, we have done a great job to the government, and provided the solid evidence to the risk management.

    e.Study on the techniques of the prevention projects

    We made full use of the theories of the geotechnical mechanics, the structure mechanics and the mathematics mechanics, then did researches on the developments of the techniques and methods. These are working on the permanent treatments on the geohazards.

    ¢Ú Mutual-effects between the geoenvironment and the human's activities & the control on the geohazardsstudy on the rocks & earth's parameters and characters

    This course is the most important knowledge which can let us do researches futher. We made great efforts on the recording and analyzing of the rock& earth's characters under different conditions to provide the first handed records to the project's designers.

    a.Study on the stabilities assessment of the slopes and how to prevent its continuing developing

    We use the geological methods to analysis and monitor the slopes. These methods are combined with the numerical and physics simulation to work out the slopes ' developing process and the cause on whether the slopes ' sliding down.With these results, we can make good prevention plans on the in-danger slopes.

    b.The analysis of the enclosed rock ' s stabilities both on the underneath projects and the deep tunnels

    Combining with the modern monitoring and simulating methods, we made analysis on the deep tunnels and underground projects. Such as the control on the rock clasping, big current£¬ high earth temperature.Then we try to develop the forecasting systems on the geohazards.All these works can ensure the activities safety during the construction.

    c.Study on the foundation's stabilities and the dealing methods on the important projects

    This course is focus on the analyzing methods of the complicated fields and the build- possibility for the high damWe use many modern methods to make assessments on such complex conditions, including the major centrifugal simulation testing ¡¢ numerical emulational simulation ¡¢ field monitoring and feedback analyzing ,etc.

    ¢Û The assessment and protection on the regional geoenvironment

    See from the view on the regional geoenvironment, we build the system of the monitoring and adjust protection to many geohazards.

    a.The particulate geoenvironment ' s formation process and their engineering effects which caused by the big hydro-projects

    To assess the build-possibilities on the certain geoenviornment, we provided the scientific evidence the construction designing process.

    b.The research on the geological effects which caused by the big hydro-projects

    From studying and experimenting both on the formation process and causing reasons, we have a major concern on the stabilities of the slopes which are located underneath the big hydro-project. These researches are related to the ¡°dam caused earthquake¡±.We use the study results to help designers to think out the possibilities of building such big hydro-projects

    c.Research on the ecosystem in the geoenvironment

    We make effort on the modern system such as the GIS and the RS, to combine with the fields works also focus on the balance between the ecosystem and the geoenvironment. We then made some measures to keep the circulation going well, and also developed a system of the multi-targets assessment on the ecosystem in the geoenvironment which was based on the GIS numerical simulation technique. With using the system, we become able to make some efforts to help it to adjust.

    d.Recover and Rebuild the mining hills and the reluctant regions in the geoenvironment

    We take precise investigations on certain geoenvironment including the major mining hills, the karst, the low temperature environment and some typical reluctant regions.During these processes, we used the auto-monitoring and assessing techniques to rebuild and recover such bad conditions. Then, we try to fix the already destroyed environment and provide the supporting knowledge to the rebuilding process

    ¢Ü The technical methods ' developing on the monitoring and forecasting on the geohazards

    We are concentrating on developing the software about the geohazards'monitoring and forecasting,to make sure reducing the hazards'damage to the lowest level.

    a.Research on the technical methods'developing and upgrade the forecasting techniques

    We are focus on the analysis of the internal system of the formation process, and regulations. And then, we make models on the geohazards ' forecasting and alarming works.After the researches, we build a series of theories to analysis this complex system and established a R&D system.

    b.Research on the modern investigation technique developing

    We use many high-quality geophysics equipments to explore the complex geoenvironment such as the beam method and the high density electronic methods, etc.We raised the precise degree of the investigating process and provided the technical supporting to the plan designing work.

    c.Research on the 3S techniques We study on the 3D techniques based on the study; we developed some useful new products to solve some new problems.We also provided some advanced measures to complete the 24 hours, high precise, analysis process on the geoenvironment.

    d.The development on the new software of the geohazards prevention methods We make full use of the modern techniques to develop the software ncluding the 3D simulation system, the rock ' s stability analysis system, the comprehensive systems, on the geohazards forecasting and alarming, th e dangerous regions ' recognizing system, etc. Most of the software are helping to solve the current problems, during the construction process.

    f.research on the first aid methods & the dealing techniques' developing

    We researched and developed many methods and measures based on the theories of th e underground opti cs, sound wave. Vibration, infrared, and use many modern equipments to .help the designers to complicate the aiding systems.
