Actuality of the laboratory

1> The history of the lab

In December 1995，the lab had passed the final admit ions by the Ministry of Land and Resource P.R.C ' permit ion, got the quality to be established, and in the year 2001, the lab become upgrade into the provincial key laboratory, in the same ear, the subject” Geological engineering ”,which the lab is attached to,is permitted as the national professional laboratory.In 2002, the lab is honored as the “ the training center of the provincial key laboratory ”.In 2003,the lab is honored as the“ministry key laboratory”by the Ministry of the Land and Resources P.R.C.

2> What education and occupation can you get and which degree?

The lab and its attaching department have the ability to educate the Geological engineering, Geotechnical engineering, Environment engineering (set by ourselves) MS and Ph.D; the Environment engineering, Environment science, Deduce and prevent the geohazards MS; the Geotechnical architecture and civil engineering EMS.

3> The employment of the lab

Our lab has 5 expertise scholars (including one foreigner). 48 residential members, 26 visiting members.The average age of the lab members is 43. The residential members are consisting of professors (including researchers), 10 assistant professors, 7 lecturers.

4> The introduction of the lab's functions

We have 4 research offices, 5 research centers, 12 equipped research laboratories. in the late 20 th century, the facilities in our lab have already achieved the international standards, the most expensive equipment is worth of 0.5 million RMB. There are 3 major functions of these equipments:The first one is for the field investigation. We use theequipments to make the field work concential. They are color 3D scanner machine, 、 SIR-20 geo radar 、 Trimble-GPS instrument ,etc.The second one is using for the analyzing the parameters of the earth and rock's . They are the main part in the lad ' facilities, which are the triaxis testing equipment, GDS unsatisfactory soil testing systems, and some important large testing machines.The third one is for simulating the process of the geohazards formation, to make assessment on the dealing methods and also make full use of the supporting techniques which is 3S.The lab has its independent building which using area is 4000 squares.

5> The major awards and the publications of the lab

We have followed the developing trend to explore and establish a very unique theory system of the geological process of formation quantity analysis, and well studied on the system of engineering in geology.The lab took part in many projects, such as the “973 project”, “National Science Foundation”,and other 300 projects.The total financial aid is account to 0.2 billion.With the help of our members,the country has saved lots of money which reach to about 2 billion RMB.The lab is awarding by the provincial department for 30 times, and published 50 issues, 1200 papers, received the national standard awards twice.
